“Baking soda” = sodium bicarbonate (bicarbonate de soude)

•    Can be found online in bulk
•    For example, La Compagnie de Bicarbonate, furnishes both cleaning strength vinegar and baking soda in bulk, along with recipes and tips. If one spends more than a certain amount, delivery is free.

“Washing soda” = cristaux de soude, available in stores and online

“Soapnuts” or “bionuts”:
•    botanical name sapindus mukorosse or  sapindus trofollatus
•    French name: noix de lavage bio

Nuts of a tree which grows in the Himalyas which are used in Nepal for washing silks and other fabrics. Available online, through WWF, and at organic stores.
“Soap nuts” DO NOT CONTAIN SOAP. They are used in place of soap.

Vinegar: 14% distilled white vinegar, household cleaning strength – is not the vinegar one tends to use in cooking. It is available in the cleaning section of supermarkets and in bulk on-line.
