Welcoming Diversity Work Group
Thursday, June 17, from 19h-21h
As AAWE members, we have a double sensitivity to events of the past year, both in France and in the US. The Welcoming Diversity work group was created to explore awareness on both sides of questions of discrimination and inclusion. There are 25 legally recognized forms of discrimination in France, which leaves us lots of room to explore.
Objectives for this group include opening minds, increasing acceptance and becoming more aware of our actions in all matters or facets of diversity. During our first meeting under this name, we shared what members had learned about the history of racism in their home states.
We will meet Thursday, June 17 from 7 to 9pm. The goal of this meeting is to organize for the 2021-2022 year. How often would we like to meet? Daytime or evening? Who would like to moderate? What subjects would we like to discuss? On what concrete actions would we like to engage? Other suggestions are very welcome.
